Narnia Recipes: Oatcakes ingredients

36 OATCAKES
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
6 tablespoons butter (3/4 stick), room temperature
6 tablespoons lard, room temperature
2 cups rolled oats, not instant
½ cup granulated sugar, plus more if needed
4 tablespoons milk

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.
2. Sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
3. Rub in the butter and lard with your fingers until well combined. The butter and lard will almost disappear into the flour. Mix in the oats and the sugar, adding more sugar if desired.

5. Bake for 10 minutes until the oatcakes just begin to color. Cool on rack.
